3D Animator

Offworld Defence Simulations (ODS) develops constructive military simulation software. We focus on leveraging the power of Unreal Engine 4 to service a broad spectrum of defence domains and applications. We are looking for a 3D Animator to work in our art team. You would be responsible for rigging, animation and implementation of animation inside Unreal Engine 4. In this role you will work closely with artists, programmers, and blueprint experts to enhance our suite of simulation and training software.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creation and manipulation of animation rigs (mainly characters but also vehicles and weapons)
  • Creation of animations for characters
  • Clean up existing mocap animations, and extend them with handcrafted or newly recorded animations
  • Understand the animation and rigging pipelines for Unreal Engine 4
  • Understanding of Control Rig inside Unreal Engine 4
  • Create Animation Blueprints inside Unreal Engine 4
  • Work closely with the artists and the technical team to integrate animations into our projects

Required skills and background:

  • Great organizational skills
  • Creative
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Understanding of Unreal Engine 4 and version control (Git/Perforce)
  • Knowledge of 3ds Max or Maya
  • Experience with vehicles and/or first person animation a plus
